Lantaw Busay + West 35 Eco Resort

Sometimes all we need is a little R&R.

Last month my family and I had some quality time over at West 35 Eco Resort, located in Balamban. I heard about it through a friend and she showed me some pictures and it seemed like a really nice place to relax. The whole drive probably only takes 1 hour and 30 minutes from Nivel Hills. Depending how fast you drive, you could probably get there in 45 minutes! Haha. We left in the morning and decided to have lunch at Lantaw, Busay. Now Lantaw is not really a new restaurant, it's first branch is probably a year old already. Driving up to the restaurant (it's located just beside Tops) was a struggle, let me tell you. The road going up is SO steep! You really have to be a seasoned driver to get it right. Good thing we went during the daytime too because I'm pretty sure it's even harder and a bit dangerous to go to at night.

What I love about it though is of course the weather! The design of the restaurant was also pretty cool because it had two floors of open space so you could enjoy the view. The food was pretty good too and affordable!

When we finally arrived at West 35 we were greeted with an eco-friendly environment. I loved the different assorted plants leading up to the restaurant, it was so eye-catching and interesting. The good thing about this place is again the weather. I really cannot stop talking about the cool weather, can I? Haha. If you decide to stay here overnight you should probably bring a thicker sweater/cardigan because it gets pretty cold at night. It has a lot of fun activities like zipline and a bonfire where you can bond with friends and family. The downside to it is the 200 steps leading down to the rooms. They're pretty hard to climb up and down to and people with knee problems, elderly and PWD's definitely cannot access the rooms. But the manager mentioned that they were making a room for PWD guests so I think next year everyone can enjoy the place already.

The room we stayed in was HUGE. It could fit about 10 people. 4 single beds with pull-out beds underneath and 1 twin bed good for 2-3 persons.

Just a warning though, if you are not one of those people who can go a day without internet/cellular reception then I don't think this is the place for you. It's pretty hard to get a signal in the rooms, they don't have wifi and the only place with reception is the restaurant. And even there, the signal is pretty bad. Don't expect to be able to post any instagram photos while you're there though, unless you get lucky with good 3G reception!

But all in all, it's a pretty good place to bond especially with your friends. You get 24 hours to be with each other without the use of internet, social media, etc. ;)
